Construction training is a mix of teaching and examination with various different topics. This training aims to give candidates a general knowledge and understanding of the construction topic they are learning, giving them the opportunity to progress onto other higher-level training courses or NVQ’s if the candidate is competent.
Construction training depends on what role you are currently in or are working towards; however, general construction training exists for those who have not decided on a trade.
Renewals involve the repetition of a full course. If the standard requires the training to be renewed after a specified time, you can apply for a full grant for it, provided that it’s completed within that time period.
Refresher courses update knowledge and understanding in a shorter-duration training course than the original, full-duration training course.
The grant available for refresher training is 50% of the Tier 1, 2, or 3 rates given for the original full-length course.
We will only support refreshers once a full training standard has been developed and is in place.
We are able to adapt courses to meet customer requirements. Some courses may be eligible for online / remote delivery with one of our professionally qualified tutors.

Commercial Courses can now be taken remotely, allowing candidates to undertake training online by working with their tutor in an online meeting in the same way they would in a classroom setting.
