The CITB Approved Standard – Manual Handling for Drylining Systems Introduction is a half-day, theory-based training course designed for supervisors, operatives and anyone involved in the manual handling of drylining materials, including plasterboard, metal framing systems, insulation products and packaged materials used within the construction industry.
The course provides delegates with the knowledge and understanding required to safely plan and carry out manual handling activities in accordance with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations and current construction industry best practice. It aims to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries, improve safe working practices and promote efficient material handling on site.
Delivered either in a classroom environment or live online via a suitable meeting platform, the course covers the principles of safe manual handling, legal responsibilities, hazard identification, risk assessment, ergonomics and the selection and appropriate use of manual handling equipment and aids.
To ensure the training is relevant to your organisation, the course can be tailored to include the specific drylining materials, handling techniques and work activities undertaken by your workforce. Where requested, practical demonstrations and assessments can also be incorporated using your organisation's own materials and handling equipment. Please note that a practical assessment is optional and is not a mandatory requirement of the CITB Approved Standard.
