Workforce Skills Support is a Construction NVQ accredited centre with our Awarding Bodies SQA and ProQual. National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) are experienced worker assessments that take place onsite for workers without formal qualifications.
We offer onsite assessment nationwide for experienced workers at Operative, Supervisory and Management level. These assessments help experienced workers demonstrate existing skills, knowledge and experience against the national occupational standards from Level 1 up to Level 7
The majority of our Construction NVQ’s tie into the Construction Skills Certification scheme (CSCS) and its related partner card schemes including National Plant Operators Register (NPORS), Construction Plant Card Scheme (CPCS) and many other partner card schemes that are CSCS Affiliated allowing employers and learners to apply for their CSCS Cards.

About CSCS
CSCS is the Construction Skills Certification Scheme and is a Construction Qualification Card Scheme that aims to provide workers with an ID that they can use to show their competence on construction sites.
A CSCS card is physical proof that a candidate has a level of competence indicated by the type of card that the candidate has.
CSCS cards are not a legal requirement, but a majority of construction sites in the UK require workers to show their competence with a CSCS cards.
A CSCS Test, also known as the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test is a requirement for all CSCS cards. The type of CSCS test depends on the level of the card.
The type of CSCS card each candidate needs is different based on the Job role and the qualifications they have.

CSCS Green Labourer Card
The Green Labourer card is an entry level card for those working as a labourer or those looking to enter the construction industry. This card shows proof that candidates have the correct level of Health and Safety Training and will allow them access to a construction site to carry out their work.
The CSCS Red Experienced Worker card is for those with on the job experience who are also registered to complete a construction related NVQ or SVQ, this card is temporary and candidates will be upgraded to the Blue Skilled Worker Card upon completion of their NVQ.
The Blue skilled worker card or CSCS blue card is a Skill card gained after a candidate has completed an appropriate NVQ or apprenticeship at level 2 or above.
The CSCS Red Experienced Manager card is for those in a Supervisor or manager position with at least 1 year of experience and are registered to complete a Construction related NVQ or SVQ at level 3 or higher.
The CSCS Gold Supervisor Card is a card for those working in a supervisory role. It provides candidates with a way to display their competence in the Level 3-4 NVQ or SVQ they have undertaken.
