What is the CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card?

The Blue Skilled Worker Card or CSCS Blue Card is a skill card gained after a candidate has completed an appropriate NVQ or apprenticeship at level 2 or above.

How do I get a Blue Skilled Worker Card?

In order to apply for this card, candidates must have an in date CITB Health, Safety & Environment test, and appropriate level 2 qualification of an NVQ/SVQ or Apprenticeship, such as:

A level 2 construction related NVQ/SVQ

An Employer Sponsored Apprenticeship

City and Guilds of London Institute Craft Certificate

CSCS approved Trailblazer

What qualifications do I need for a CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card?

You need an in date CITB Health, Safety & Environment test within 2 years, and one of the following:

A level 2 construction related NVQ/SVQ

An Employer Sponsored Apprenticeship

City and Guilds of London Institute Craft Certificate

CSCS approved Trailblazer

Can I get this card without an NVQ?

Yes, you can get a CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card if you have completed an appropriate construction apprenticeship, however if you do not have this then you can also use a level 2 NVQ.

How long does this card last?

The CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card lasts 5 years, it can be renewed for £36 if the candidate has an in date relevant health and safety Operative test.
