If you're new to the industry or have less than 3 years of experience, the red Trained Worker ACAD Skill Card is the right choice for you. This card is valid for 3 years, during which time you must complete your relevant NVQ, as no replacement card will be issued without it.
For those with over 3 years of experience, the red Experienced Worker ACAD Skill Card is more suitable. This card is valid for 12 months and requires you to be enrolled in the appropriate NVQ programme. You must complete the NVQ within this timeframe, or the card will not be renewed.
Once you have obtained the relevant NVQ, you can apply for either the blue Skilled Worker ACAD Skill Card or the gold Supervisor ACAD Skill Card. Both of these cards are renewable every five years.
