The purpose of the safe use of power tools course is to provide candidates with the knowledge on how to select the most appropriate equipment for the task whilst taking into account the potential risks and also how to mitigate the risks through dynamic risk assessment and inspection regimes. This course is suitable for managers, supervisors, and operatives, and the course can be adapted to suit the equipment utilised within your organisation.

Candidates whose first language is not English are welcome to attend. However, all courses are conducted, assessed/marked and certificated in English.

To successfully complete the course, candidates must have a sufficient level of English to:

  • Undertake the course requirements
  • Understand the course they are registered for
  • Recognise the purpose of undertaking it

For candidates whose first language is not English, the use of a bilingual dictionary in book form (not electronic or translator devices) is permitted during assessment.

While it is not a regulated qualification, it is designed to meet industry needs and support workforce development.
