As of the 1st of June 2024, the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) announced the withdrawal of the CSCS (Blue) skilled worker card for the trade of steel erecting for individuals registering on the Steel Erector Level 2 Diploma.
Further to this on the 1st of August 2024, the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) announced the withdrawal of the CSCS (Gold) skilled worker card for individuals registering on the ProQual Steel Erector Level 3 Diploma, after the withdrawal date.
This only affects new applicants to these qualification registered on the qualifications after the specified dates, and will not affect any existing card holders who will still be able to renew their CSCS cards.
Steel Erectors impacted by the qualification’s withdrawal should contact the ACE card scheme for further advice on following the ECITB’s recommendations for this activity. The principal activity of Steel Erecting has been identified as an engineering construction activity.

This will lead to the ACE “Assuring Competence in Engineering” card when the ECITB Vocational qualification is held and a valid CCNSG passport is issued. This is one of the 38 partner card schemes of CSCS
