Can you tell me more about the Trained Operator Card?
In order to apply for this card the following requirements must be met, depending on the candidates experience these may change.
Candidates must be profiled by an ATP (Approved Training Provider) to ensure they are suitable for the chosen route, depending on the outcome the candidate will be recommended for Experience Worker Test or a Novice course which will conclude with testing.
Candidates must undertake training / testing conducted in line with the NPORS course objectives, learning outcomes and training ratios
All Candidates must undertake NPORS theoretical and practical tests
This can be obtained with a valid a health, safety & environment test for operatives ( last 2 years from date of card claim)
Validity – The Red Trained Operator Card is valid for 2 years
How can I renew an NPORS Red Trained Operator Card?
Candidates are expected to have completed their NVQ qualification before the expiration of this card, However a 12 month extension is available if the qualification is delayed ( proof of relevant NVQ / SVQ registration required for extension to be granted).
How do I get an NPORS Red Trained Operator Card?

Do I need CSCS with NPORS?
No, although the CSCS logo on the card can be more preferred by sites as it demonstrates the operator has met the minimum Health and Safety requirements.
How do I renew an NPORS Red Trained Operator Card?
The card cannot be renewed. It can be upgraded to a Blue operator card on completion of the relevant NVQ. The card can be extended up to 12 month if the operator can prove they are registered and working towards the relevant NVQ.
