Course Information

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Anyone whose work includes operating from a MEWP or working at a height requiring the wearing of a harness will benefit from this course. We also recommend personnel who supervise or manage these activities attend the course to gain a full understanding of the legislative requirements.

This course can be adapted to suit the client’s requirements.
Training can be delivered on site using the client’s training room or at a convenient, suitable location.

The course will go through the legislative requirements for harness use and inspection with group exercises on identifying defects in harnesses and lanyards by carrying out inspections on equipment to identify defective issues, you will also demonstrate the correct wearing and checking procedures for the safe use on harnesses and be able to confidently select the correct equipment for different applications when working at height.
Course Requirements
Delegates will carry out practical training on the inspection procedures of relevant equipment. It is advised that attendees of this course bring their own harness and lanyards to ensure the course is bespoke to their needs. Workforce Skills Support can provide a limited selection of harness and lanyards for this training course.

Where possible, we ask learners to bring their own harness to the training course for the practical element. Workforce Skills Support can supply a limited amount of equipment for training purposes; by providing your own equipment, the practical training will be tailored to the equipment you use.

Yes – all attendees will receive a CITB ATO Workforce Skills Support Certification upon successful completion of the course. 

While it is not a regulated qualification, it is designed to meet industry needs and support workforce development.
