What to expect:
The Tool Hire Product Awareness training course is a classroom-based course with demonstrations and practical group exercises.
The client is to specify and provide types of equipment used within the organisation to ensure this will meet their specific needs. If practical application/assessment is requested a suitable area for the practical element of the training at the client’s premises is to be provided for using the equipment and materials for practicing the use of the selected hand-held power tools (blocks, bricks, paving slabs, kerbs, steel or pipes, etc.)
Attendees carrying out practical use of hand-held power tools are required to bring appropriate PPE/ RPE, which should include: Hard hat, Goggles (BS EN 166B-rated), a hi-vis vest, Safety boots, Gloves, Dust mask (FFP-rated), and hearing protection (minimum rated: SNR 29 dB (A).

The aim of this course is to provide knowledge of the hazards and risks associated with the use of hand-held tools and equipment from hire companies and company-owned tools, including how to control them, and to provide delegates with a good understanding of selecting appropriate PPE and RPE for work activities taking place.
The Tool Hire Product Awareness Training – Safe use of tools course is designed for people who may be required to select, use, or maintain small power tools and equipment as part of workplace activities or who need familiarisation or refresher skills with the relevant regulations and practical application of skills when using power tools and equipment.
Candidates whose first language is not English are welcome to attend. However, all courses are conducted, assessed/marked and certificated in English.
