Our assessor schedules the appointments with the candidate at times that work for both parties.
Since the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Formwork are candidate-led, they can be completed swiftly once the majority of the evidence has been acquired for the proposed evidence list, a copy of which we've provided. After the evidence is gathered (by email), the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Formwork can be completed quickly in two to three sessions, lasting a few hours each, as long as the candidate can set aside time for the professional follow-up discussion to go over all of the given evidence.
The follow-up professional discussion can be completed face-to-face or remotely.
1st visit – Induction, planning
2nd visit – discuss evidences, identify shortfall of evidences
3rd – visit – Discuss new evidences, cover shortfall in questions (if required) - completed

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Formwork is a vocational qualification for experienced formworkers. It enables you to demonstrate and formally recognise your competence in erecting, striking, constructing, maintaining and repairing both complex and non‑complex formwork systems in real workplace environments.
This NVQ is designed for construction workers who specialise in formwork (also known as shuttering), including advanced formworkers and shuttering carpenters who want formal recognition of their practical skills and competence in more complex formwork tasks.

There are no formal academic entry requirements. However, candidates should already be working in a formwork role and have the experience and access to workplace activities necessary to provide evidence of competence during assessment.
Assessment is workplace‑based and may include on‑site visits and remote support. A qualified assessor will observe your work, review your portfolio of evidence, and hold professional discussions with you to confirm your competence in carrying out formwork activities in your normal job role. Participants collect evidence from real tasks performed at work.
Yes, you can be eligible for the CSCS Gold Skilled Workers card, as long as you have completed the relevant Operative Health and Safety Test within 2 years of applying for the card. Please contact Workforce Skills Support for further CSCS experience and trainee card information.
