Who is this course for?

Temporary Works are safety and business-critical and will require careful coordination to mitigate the risks faced within the construction sector, this course will provide the necessary knowledge to attendees on industry good practices for risk and safety management as outlined in BS 5975 (code of practice for temporary works and permissible stress design for falsework).

Yes. On successful completion, the learner will receive an accredited digital CITB certificate. A proof of pass letter can be immediately provided if required upon receipt of the course results from the trainer.

How long is the TWCTC certificate valid?

The certificate is valid for 5 years. There is no refresher at this stage so you’re just required to retake the course. Although CITB is looking at providing a refresher course for TWCTC towards the end of 2022, we will keep you posted.

Are there any entry requirements for TWCTC?

There are no formal entry requirements. However, delegates should hold or are about to have the role of TWC.

Is it ok for a Temporary Works Supervisor to attend the Temporary Works Coordinator course?

We can only deliver one type of course at a time (either the Temporary works coordinator (TWC – 2 days) or Temporary works supervisor (TWS – 1 day). If the supervisors complete the temporary works coordinator course this will also cover them undertaking the role of temporary works supervision.

The coordinator course is often undertaken by individuals responsible for both or either roles, and the course content across both courses is similar with the coordinator course being a more comprehensive look at the procedures and processes behind temporary works management and does cover the responsibilities of both the coordinator and the supervisor.

The supervisor’s course is a condensed version of the coordinator course in which they will also need to understand documentational processes, as the coordinator may not be required to be present on site all the times and the supervisor will assist the coordinator fulfil their duties in this eventuality.

From our Temporary Works Trainers experience, the supervisors would benefit more from the coordinator course by understanding the full process for temporary works management and the 2 days allows for greater learning on this topic.

Is there a CITB levy completion grant attached to this course?

Yes! There is a £140 grant attached to this course per delegate. As an ATO, we’d automatically claim this on your behalf.
