The ProQual Level 3 Award in the Inspection and Testing of Fire Resisting Door Installations provides a nationally recognised industry specific qualification which demonstrates competence in inspecting and testing of fire resisting door installations to ensure that they meet current Fire Regulations for fire doors.
The benefits of completing the Level 3 Award in the Inspection and Testing of Fire Resisting Door is that it's an accredited qualification delivered through the recognised awarding body ProQual, which will provide increased knowledge and awareness of fire door installation and compliance with legislation and guidance.
The assessment provides individuals with the opportunity to confirm competency to safely insect and test fire door installations, along with a nationally recognised indusrty specific qualification. This can be then contributed to the quality assurance of projects in line with legal and safety responsibilities.
There are no formal academic entry requirements. Candidates should be employed in a relevant occupation and have sufficient experience so they can gather real workplace evidence of competence for assessment. Completion of a Level 2 NVQ or equivalent experience is typical before progressing to Level 3.
Assessment is workplace‑based and evidence‑driven. A qualified assessor will observe you in your normal job, review your portfolio of evidence (such as photographs, job records, and witness testimonies), and hold professional discussions to confirm your competence across the units relevant to your chosen pathway. There are no formal exams; assessment is based on real work activities.
No. This qualification is not recognised for CSCS Gold Skilled Worker card applications. It does not currently lead to automatic CSCS card eligibility, so if you need a CSCS card, you’ll need to discuss other NVQ options or card routes with Workforce Skills Support.
