Bristol Employer Network

The CITB Employer Networks are your gateway to essential funding opportunities designed to enhance the skills and competencies of your workforce. The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) is committed to supporting employers in the construction industry by providing access to funding for a wide range of training programmes. Here’s how you can benefit from these opportunities:.

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) established and funds this innovative project with the goal of making training support and funding more accessible. Workforce Skills Support, a national CITB-approved training organisation and Employer Networks Partner provider, is here to help you understand and take advantage of this excellent opportunity.

The CITB Employer Network Construction Training Funding Scheme is intended to assist construction employers in obtaining the financial support they require to train employees. This funding aims to raise industry standards, increase productivity, and ensure a highly skilled workforce capable of addressing the changing demands of the construction industry.

They have two primary objectives:

Simplify Access:

Make it easy for you to obtain training and funding without the need for excessive paperwork.

Inform the CITB:

Bring together local employers to tell CITB about training needs and advise on funding allocation to meet immediate and future skill shortages in their region.

Employer Networks have been successfully piloted since July 2022, with over 1,000 firms benefiting from improved training accessibility. CITB plans to expand its coverage across the United Kingdom by 2024.

  • Skill Enhancement: Equip your workforce with the latest skills and knowledge to stay ahead in the competitive construction industry.
  • Increased Productivity: Well-trained employees work more efficiently, leading to increased productivity and better project outcomes.
  • Career Development: Provide your employees with opportunities for career growth and development, fostering job satisfaction and retention.
  • Cost-Effective Training: Access high-quality training programmes with financial support, reducing the overall cost to your business.

You can find the contact details of your local CITB customer engagement advisor in your area by visiting the CITB In Your Local Area page.

"I’m really excited about Employer Networks; this is about putting employers in the driving seat to identify and address their skills challenges and how best CITB can align our funding and resources to support their skills needs. I would encourage employers in the network areas to get involved and use their voice to shape training provision."

Tim Balcon, CITB Chief Executive
