The New Roads and Street Works Act requires that anyone who executes, works for, or on behalf of a utility company, is qualified for the activities being carried out. Any street works site must have at least one qualified Operative on site at all times during the works and the site must have a qualified Supervisor appointed to the site who can oversee the works.

This course is suitable for those who are involved with the monitoring and supervision of excavations, maintenance & reinstatement on the public highway.

Streetworks Supervisor Course Course Content
There are two “key certificates” that Supervisors must complete; (Unit 001) Location & avoidance of underground apparatus; and (Unit 10) Monitoring Signing, lighting and guarding, the additional units detailed below may also be included in the course:
Unit 001 – Location & avoidance of underground services
Unit 010 – Monitoring Signing, Lighting & Guarding
Unit 011 – Monitoring Excavation in the highway
Unit 012 – Monitoring Reinstatement & compaction of backfill materials
Unit 013 – Monitoring Reinstatement of non-bituminous sub-base & road-base materials
Unit 014 – Monitoring Laying practices and reinstatement of cold lay bituminous materials
Unit 016 – Monitoring Reinstatement of modular surfaces & concrete footways

Streetworks Supervisor Course Certification
This is a nationally recognised qualification which is valid for a period of 5 years and a 2 day re-assessment is required prior to the expiry of the card issued upon successful completion of the original course.
