CPCS A41 Loader Compressor Course Aims

To provide you with a thorough understanding of the relevant operational and safety requirements applicable to loader compressor operators (such as trac air), working in the construction industry and allied environments, to enable the candidate to competently and safely carry out the role and pass the CPCS Theory and Practical Tests.

Course Content

To provide knowledge and understanding in the following areas:
Describing the nature of the sector of industry and their role and responsibilities as a plant operator
Naming and explaining the purpose of principal components, the basic construction, controls and terminology
Conforming with manufacturer’s requirements as per the operator’s handbook, other types of information source and relevant regulations and legislation
Undertaking all pre-use checks
Configuration of plant to be set for site and highway travel
Travelling over rough, undulating ground and level surfaces; laden and Un-laden
Manoeuvring in confined spaces
Configuring and setting for loading operations
Configuring and setting for pneumatic tool operations
Explaining actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services
Sorting and placing materials into transporting vehicles and/or hoppers
Clearing spread materials
Carrying out compressor shut-down procedures and tool/equipment storing
Carrying out shut down and securing procedures
Explaining the loading and unloading procedures for machine transporting

What is the CPCS A41 Loader Compressor test?
To achieve the Red CPCS Trained Operator Card candidates must pass both the CSCS touch screen H+S test (within the last 2 years) and the CPCS Theory Test and the Practical Test.
