The one-day Temporary works coordinator training course Refresher (TWC-R) is designed to assist those on site who have responsibility for managing all forms of temporary works and will provide you with up-to-date training on the procedures to be followed to mitigate risk during the planning, installation, maintenance, use and dismantling of temporary works in construction.
The Temporary Works Refresher is for those responsible for managing all forms of temporary works who have previously completed the 2-day Temporary Works Coordinator CITB Qualification or Subsequent Refresher Course and hold a valid certificate.
The purpose of the temporary works coordinator training course refresher is to provide updates to changes within the industry and ensure individuals maintain continuous professional development (CPD) for those responsible for monitoring and managing temporary works. To ensure management systems are suitable and sufficient when undertaking temporary works on a project, it identifies and covers the risk and safety management processes outlined in the temporary works code of practice (BS 5975).
Please note: This course alone does not prove competency as a Temporary Works Coordinator. This comes from a mixture of skills, knowledge, training and experience and should be judged by an appropriate individual.
The refresher course is only for delegates who have previously passed the Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) course and can provide proof of successful attendance.
If a delegate cannot provide a copy of their certificate, the CITB online card checker can be used to establish if a delegate currently holds a valid TWC certificate. If an individual cannot be located on the system and no evidence of their certificate can be found, they will have to attend the full Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) course.
Failure to attend the refresher course prior to the expiry of an existing certificate will require the delegate to re-enter the scheme by completing the full Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) course if they wish to remain in the scheme.
CITB Courses can now be taken remotely allowing for candidates to undertake training online by working with their tutor in an online meeting in the same way they would in a classroom setting. CITB has also introduced remote courses where candidates can take training courses on their own using online resources.
