If a candidate has been granted a grant for a particular course in their lifetime, they will not be eligible for grant again for the same course unless it has specific refresher standards published on the short-duration course register.

If refresher course standards do exist for a particular course, then only one refresher course is eligible in a lifetime for each candidate.

The duration of the course can vary depending on the training provider, but it typically lasts between 3 and 5 days, including both practical and theoretical sessions.
Operators must be physically fit, have good hand-eye coordination, and be capable of handling the physical demands of crane operations. A medical examination may be required to ensure fitness for the role.
The assessment typically consists of a theoretical test followed by a practical examination. The theoretical test includes multiple-choice questions, while the practical test involves demonstrating the ability to operate the crane safely and effectively.
Certified mobile crane operators can find employment in various sectors, including construction, logistics, and manufacturing. Opportunities exist with construction companies, crane rental firms, and large industrial projects.
The CPCS A60 certification specifically qualifies you to operate mobile cranes. To operate other types of cranes, additional training and certification may be required.

To achieve the Red CPCS Trained Operator Card, candidates must pass both the CSCS touch screen H+S test (within the last 2 years) and the CPCS Theory Test and the Practical Test.

To upgrade the Red CPCS Trained Operator Card, you will have to achieve, within 2 years, the relevant NVQ.
