The IATP approval ensures all its members are independently audited to prove competence and compliance with regulations and legislation in relation to asbestos.

The IATP-approved asbestos training is designed to give everyone, from operatives to managers, a relevant course to help give them the correct knowledge and understanding.

Online and classroom IATP Asbestos Training

As part of this ongoing COVID-19 crisis, Workforce Skills Support has adapted courses to be delivered via online systems as a safer option to face-to-face training as well as classroom-based courses.

Check which HSE test you need to do

As an independent asbestos training provider, we are now offering remote (IATP)-approved courses to support asbestos removal operations with online training.

To mitigate the risk of COVID-19, online delivery provides a safer alternative to traditional face-to-face and classroom-based training. These courses are led by experienced asbestos professionals who will be available to answer questions and address queries during live sessions.

Candidates will complete an online exam to demonstrate their knowledge. This exam will be invigilated via video call under exam conditions, and successful candidates will receive a certificate upon passing.

  • Laptop or Tablet – with camera function
  • Your device requires a microphone and speakers to enable interaction between you, the tutor and other delegates
  • Access to reliable internet is an essential requirement
  • Email address and access to receive course materials
  • Photographic ID – Drivers licence/Passport etc.
  • Be able to access “Zoom Cloud Meetings” (link to the meeting will be provided by the centre)
  • You must be clearly visible to the tutor throughout the course

Workforce Skills Support is an Independent Asbestos Training Provider (IATP) delivering approved courses.

The IATP approval ensures all its members are independently audited to prove competence and compliance with regulations and legislation in relation to asbestos.

IATP works in cooperation with the HSE and is a not-for-profit organisation.

IATP membership allows us to deliver approved asbestos training courses across the three types of training: Awareness (formerly Category A), Non-Licensable Asbestos Works (formerly Category B), and Licensable Works (formerly Category C).

IATP is recognised under the ACAD, ARCA, and CCDO card schemes.

By law, each employer must ensure that their employees receive the right level of information, instruction, and training if it is likely that they will come into contact with asbestos during their work. They are required to ensure that all employees are safe and confident when working in close proximity to asbestos so as not to run the risk of endangering themselves or others.
