CITB is the industry training board for the construction sector in England, Scotland, and Wales. It’s our job to help the construction industry attract talent and to support skills development, to build a better Britain.
The funding applies to all employers ‘engaged wholly or mainly in construction industry activities’. In other words, when construction activities take up more than half of your total employees’ time (including subcontractors).
Employer Networks are an initiative set up and funded by CITB aiming to simplify the way you get the support and funding you need to access the training you want. It’s all part of the service.
Make it easier for you to access training and funding. The training can be in anything that supports construction employers. These could be the trade skills you need right now or something you’ll need in the future - such as net zero, digital skills or mentoring. And because the Employer Networks help organise it all, you don’t need to complete any paperwork to apply for funding.
To bring together employers at a local level to inform CITB on training needs, to advise how funding should be prioritised and allocated, and to effectively use training provision to address immediate and future skills needs in their region.
Yes, it is possible to receive multiple sources of financial support simultaneously, such as CITB grants, CITB funds, and ELCAS, provided you meet the eligibility criteria for each type of funding. Each source has its own application process and specific requirements that must be fulfilled. However, you must ensure that the funding from each source is used for its intended purpose and that there is no overlap or double-funding for the same expense.
It can be difficult to know what type of financial support you are eligible for. We've compiled a series of frequently asked questions to help you. We encourage you to get in touch with our team to get more personalised advice on the type of fund or grant you can get.
