Our assessor schedules the appointments with the candidate at times that work for both parties.
Since the Level 3 NVQ Diploma Trowel Occupations (Construction) are candidate-led, they can be completed swiftly once the majority of the evidence has been acquired for the proposed evidence list, a copy of which we've provided. After the evidence is gathered (by email), the Level 3 NVQ Diploma Trowel Occupations (Construction) can be completed quickly in two to three sessions, lasting a few hours each, as long as the candidate can set aside time for the professional follow-up discussion to go over all of the given evidence.
The follow-up professional discussion can be completed face-to-face or remotely.
1st visit – Induction, planning
2nd visit – discuss evidences, identify shortfall of evidences
3rd – visit – Discuss new evidences, cover shortfall in questions (if required) - completed

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations (Construction) is a vocational qualification for experienced bricklayers and trowel tradespeople. It assesses your competence in advanced masonry tasks such as erecting and setting out complex masonry structures and other masonry work based on your performance in real workplace settings.
This NVQ is designed for people working in bricklaying and other trowel‑based occupations who want formal recognition of their advanced skills and competence. It is suitable for experienced operatives in masonry roles who regularly carry out complex building and structural duties.

There are no formal academic entry requirements. You should be employed in a relevant trowel occupation role, such as bricklaying, and have sufficient experience so you can demonstrate your advanced skills and gather real workplace evidence for assessment.
Assessment is workplace‑based and may include on‑site visits and remote support. A qualified assessor will observe your practical work, hold professional discussions, and review a portfolio of evidence showing your competence in tasks such as erecting masonry, setting out structures, and performing related masonry duties. There are no traditional written exams; assessment is based on your real work activities.
Yes, you can be eligible for the CSCS Gold Skilled Workers card, as long as you have completed the relevant Operative Health and Safety Test within 2 years of applying for the card. Please contact Workforce Skills Support for further CSCS experience and trainee card information.
