Our assessor schedules the appointments with the candidate at times that work for both parties.
Since the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Roofing Occupations are candidate-led, they can be completed swiftly once the majority of the evidence has been acquired for the proposed evidence list, a copy of which we've provided. After the evidence is gathered (by email), the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Roofing Occupations can be completed quickly in two to three sessions, lasting a few hours each, as long as the candidate can set aside time for the professional follow-up discussion to go over all of the given evidence.
The follow-up professional discussion can be completed face-to-face or remotely.
1st visit – Induction, planning
2nd visit – discuss evidences, identify shortfall of evidences
3rd – visit – Discuss new evidences, cover shortfall in questions (if required) - completed

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Roofing Occupations (Construction) is a vocational qualification for experienced roofing professionals. It assesses your competence in advanced roofing tasks, including slating, tiling and other complex roofing techniques, and confirms your ability to carry out these duties to nationally recognised standards in a real workplace environment.
This NVQ is designed for individuals who are already working in roofing roles and want formal recognition of their advanced skills. It is suitable for roof slaters, roof tilers, and operatives working with multiple roofing systems, and can support career progression into more senior or specialist positions.

There are no formal academic entry requirements for this NVQ. However, you should already be working in a roofing role and ideally have relevant experience at a Level 2 standard so you can demonstrate the practical skills and knowledge required to complete this advanced qualification.
Assessment is workplace-based and may include on-site visits and remote support. A qualified assessor observes your work in your normal roofing role, reviews your portfolio of evidence, and holds professional discussions to confirm your competence across required roofing tasks and units. There are no traditional written exams, as assessment is based on real work activities.
Yes, you can be eligible for the CSCS Gold Skilled Workers card, as long as you have completed the relevant Operative Health and Safety Test within 2 years of applying for the card. Please contact Workforce Skills Support for further CSCS experience and trainee card information.
