This Level 3 NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) is a certification programme that provides recognition of an individual's competence in the field of health and safety management. It is a UK-based qualification that is internationally recognised and demonstrates the holder's ability to implement, manage, and monitor OHS policies and procedures.
The benefits of holding an NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) include recognition of your expertise in the field, improved job opportunities, career advancement, and the ability to develop and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures. Additionally, you will have the knowledge and skills required to identify, assess, and control workplace hazards, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries in the workplace.
To obtain this NVQ, you will need to complete a relevant training course, which usually takes around 12 months to complete. During the course, you will develop your knowledge and skills in managing OHS policies and procedures, risk assessment and control, and monitoring and reviewing workplace safety. You will also be required to complete practical assessments and work-based projects to demonstrate your competence in the field.
Anyone who is currently working in the field of health and safety management or who is interested in pursuing a career in this field is eligible to take this NVQ. There are no formal entry requirements, although some prior knowledge or experience in the field may be beneficial.
Completing this NVQ can open up a range of job opportunities, including health and safety advisor, health and safety officer, health and safety manager, and health and safety consultant. You may also be able to progress to higher-level qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 4 or 5 in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), which can lead to more senior roles in the field.
