With ongoing changes to CITB funding and tighter training budgets across the sector, many construction employers are looking for smarter ways to use their funding and grant entitlement. One of the most effective approaches is combining NVQs with short, commercial training courses under Employer Network (EN) funding.
At Workforce Skills Support, we’ve built a number of funding-optimised packages that allow levy-registered companies to upskill their teams with 2 days added value training for as little as £962 net cost, based on a Level 2 NVQ.
Each package includes:
These course examples have been selected for their relevance to compliance, site safety, and Building Safety Act readiness – areas where many employers are currently refocusing training investment. They can be customised to your needs.

CITB funding helps construction employers recover part of their training costs through grants and funding schemes. It’s designed to support workforce development and compliance within the sector.
Each package includes an NVQ qualification (Level 2–7) plus two days of face-to-face training from a list of approved commercial courses — such as Fire Warden, Vehicle Marshall, or Building Safety Act awareness.
Employer Network funding can cover up to 70% of the total training cost, while the CITB Achievement Grant can provide up to £600 per NVQ.
Levy-registered construction companies who are up-to-date with their levy returns are eligible for these funded training packages.
Yes. You can add additional Level 2 NVQs for £395 + VAT each, and more delegates to commercial courses at no extra net cost (up to the course maximum).
CITB funding structures have changed, focusing more on employer-led and outcome-based models. Securing funding early ensures your business maximises levy value before any further model updates.
