If your business is CITB-registered, you may be eligible to claim £1,250 per learner through the CITB Short Qualification Grant, fully covering the cost of selected Level 3 NVQs.
That means you can upskill your workforce with zero net cost to your business — no downtime, no hassle, and no hidden fees.
This is a simple and effective way to invest in your team without impacting your budget. The NVQ assessment is delivered flexibly — often on site — with full assessor support.
Here’s how it breaks down:
Funded through the CITB short qualification grant. VAT is reclaimable if you’re VAT-registered.
The following qualifications are available for full grant funding:
A medium-sized contractor in the North West enrolled five site supervisors on the Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision NVQ.
Each NVQ cost £1,250, and the CITB short qualification grant fully reimbursed the cost — saving the company £6,250 in total.
The NVQ was assessed on site with no disruption to projects.
Total cost to the business = £0
Please note: The grant value applied to this qualification is based on the current enhanced Short Period Qualification Grant of £1,250.
This enhanced rate is confirmed only for completions prior to 1st January 2026.
CITB has not yet confirmed grant values beyond this date. If the qualification is completed after 1st January 2026, revised £600 grant values apply.
With less than a year to take full advantage of enhanced grant funding, the clock is ticking. Completing your NVQ before 31st December 2025 ensures your business receives the maximum grant benefit—and avoids unnecessary cost increases next year.
