CSCS Red Trainee Card

Candidates can get the temporary trainee card without any qualifications; however, they need to be registered to complete a construction-related qualification. To get a permanent card, candidates will need to have completed the qualification they are registered for.

Candidates must provide the following evidence as minimum:

• Full name
• Full qualification title
• Date of registration (must be in the last 2 years)
• Applicants must also have passed the Operative level CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within the last 2 years

To apply for this card, candidates must have an up-to-date CITB Health, Safety, & Environment test, be a trainee, and be registered to complete construction-related qualifications, which may be vocational, academic, or professional.

The Red Trainee Card is valid for 5 years. Within this time, candidates are expected to have completed their registered qualifications.

No, the trainee worker card is not available to be renewed as candidates are expected to have completed their qualification; however, the card can be extended if the qualification has been delayed or is taking an extended period.
