About The Course

This one-day health and safety awareness course is designed to aid the understanding of potential hazards the construction worker may face on site.

It provides a practical summary of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. It identifies the delegate’s responsibilities for looking after themselves and others, outlines the employer’s duties and explains what should be done if the worker thinks that anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.

The course is an ideal foundation for those wishing to obtain a construction industry CSCS card, by completing this course and successfully completing this course and the CITB Health, Safety & Environmental Test you would be eligible to apply for the CSCS Labourer Card.

This course is endorsed by Build UK and upon completion of the course candidates will be able to: 
principles of risk assessment of maintaining and improving health and safety at work
importance of safe manual handling in the workplace
importance of working safely at height in the workplace
risks to health within a construction environment

Yes, this can be taken using a laptop where the training provider will send you a meeting link to be able to join the course from any location of your choice, this method of course is delivered by an instructor who you will be able to interact with for the duration of your course. This style of course is delivered the same way as a face-to-face classroom course.
An alternative option is you can attend a CITB e-Learning course, this can be taken in your own time over several days if required, there is no tutor support with this course.

Grant Claims

The Health and Safety Awareness course is eligible for a Tier 1 Grant claim, this grant can only be claimed once per candidate per lifetime and the grant does not renew.
