benefits of using workforce skills support

At Workforce Skills Support, we are passionate about the industry and knowledgeable about assisting employers with cards and training-related inquiries.

We wanted to shout about what makes us stand out in a competitive market.

We are a CITB-approved Training Organisation.

This is good to know if you are a CITB levy registered employer.

What does that mean?

We automatically claim grants for any eligible courses. In addition, we will contact the grant team on your behalf four weeks after completion to ensure grants are paid. We can help you with any related grant questions or delays until they are resolved. Many providers will complete the grant claims but not follow through to ensure it’s been paid.

You can find our grant-eligible courses and NVQs on our website

We have a team of knowledgeable staff who are current and up-to-date with CITB funding and grants.

This is good to know if you are a CITB levy registered employer.

What does that mean?

We will keep you up to date with any new pots of funding, enhanced grants, or significant changes in the industry. Many of our clients are unaware of funding pots and grant changes, even as levy-registered businesses, so we help them make the most of what they are eligible for.

You can find out about funding, grants, and changes in industry on our website.

Have you used the CITB Skills and Training fund in the last six months?

It is good to know that you can now make two yearly applications if you are a CITB levy registered employer. We will support clients with an application where our NVQ delivery is part of the application.

What does that mean?

We will support the application with you from start to finish and take the hassle and complexity out of making the application. We will draft your application and compile your project close down when you get to this point. More importantly, ensure all eligible achievement grant is claimed along the way.

If your business is over the CITB levy exemption threshold, it’s an excellent way to claw back some of the money paid to the levy by claiming funding for training and qualifications.

If your business is exempt from the CITB levy, it’s an opportunity to gain funded training and qualifications to demonstrate compliance and secure future business. This could help the company grow and help with any accreditation requirements you would like to achieve.

What’s the benefit of doing training and qualifications?

A fully qualified workforce helps employers provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do onsite. They support your health and Safety policy by enforcing a positive safety culture and compliance with health and safety legislation.

You can achieve a carded workforce for those wanting to follow the CSCS and partner card schemes. By ensuring individuals are appropriately qualified, the cards play their part in improving standards and safety on UK construction sites.

You are able to demonstrate a fully competent and compliant workforce, this can help with Construction accreditations. Applying for work helps save time and money as you can show active and up to accreditations.

We understand many of our clients often require accreditations for tendering for work, and principal contractors might also ask for this from their subcontractors:

  • What accreditations might this help towards?
  • Chas – The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme
  • SMAS Accreditations – Safety Management Advisory Services
  • SafeContractor Accreditation – leading Health and Safety Accreditation scheme
  • CAS Accreditation – Common Assessment Standard
  • Constructionline Accreditation – prequalification database
